Thursday, January 18 Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Bazaar: Southern Poverty Law Center Benefits with Flying Stars of Brooklyn, Ikebe Shakedown, Alba and the Mighty Lions, The Harlem Gospel Travelers, and Jonathan Toubin, 8pm, $10/$12: Coleman Records’ The Flying Stars of Brooklyn, NY is the gospel project of Aaron Frazer of Durand Jones & The Indications whose new “My God Has A Telephone” went viral and has already been streamed over a million times on Spotify. The live band touts an explosive lineup featuring Eli Paperboy Reed as well as members of The Soul Survivors and The Gospel Queens. Check out their hit if you haven’t already! Coleman label-mates Ikebe Shakedown are an eclectic instrumental funk band celebrating the release of their third LP “The Way Home.” And Alba and the Mighty Lions “blend soulful swampy southern blues with loose rock n’ roll vibes.” The Harlem Gospel Travelers, Coleman’s most recent signing, are the young gospel quartet led by Eli Paperboy Reed! Jonathan Toubin plays records between the bands.
