NYNT MOVES SOUL CLAP TO BROOKLYN BOWL. OVER 800 ATTEND! PICS & VIDEO…
After five years at Glasslands Gallery, New York Night Train SOUL CLAP & DANCE-OFF moved to the Brooklyn Bowl to let more people in and make more room for dancing. Over 800 came to the first one on September 22. Jonathan Toubin got everybody down to his trademark 45s all night long. The 1AM Dance-Off (for $100 CASH (1st prize) and $75 Metropolis Vintage shopping spree (2nd prize)) had new rules so that 200 party-goers were able to enter the contest. San Francisco rock and rollerTY SEGALL was the contest selector and the judges were Ryan Schreiber (Pitchfork founder/CEO), Brigid Dawson (Thee Oh Sees), Franck Raharinosy (SPIN GALACTIC / Prince of Ping Pong), Melena Ryzik ( NYTimes ), Mikal Cronin (Ty Segall / Mikal Cronin), and Ko Melina (Dirtbombs/Little Steven’s Underground Garage).
