Dabrye, Percee P - Mercury Lounge $12

Ann Arbor’s Tadd Mullinix, whose been experimenting with eclectic futuristic electro hip-hop collages for years now, has finally found time catching up with his music. Though many of his sci-fi innovations, taking Bambaataa and Detroit to another place entirely, have become the norm, Mullinix is still very much at the top of his game. His Dabrye moniker, with its second full-length Two/Three, following its predecessor, 2001’s One/Three, by five years, is one of the more original and playful hip-hop listens thusfar this year. In addition to the inclusion of last year’s “Game Over” single, featuring the late Jay Dee and Phat Kat, the most obvious difference between the two records is the addition of MCs to his sonic Blade Running - MF Doom, Beans, Vast Aire, Big Tone, and others. Mullinix won't go instrumental tonight either, he’ll be joined by noneother than legendary Bronx flowmaster Percee P – super skills all around. Will Beans and Aire show?
