Awesome color indeed

Diamond Caverns, Mouth of Leaves and the Daughters Humans, Nymph, Meadows - Cake Shop $5

I was excited to hear the party music of Awesome Cool Dudes tonight. They're one of those retro-eighties pop bands who blur the lines between homage and parody - silly but super-musical - a sort of Texas Gil Mantera's Party Dream if you will. Anyway, I was bummed to learn that they're not coming anymore because a few days ago their van was stolen from outside of the Milestone in Charlotte, NC. They eventually got the van back - but minus their personal belongings and equipment. Jim from Chicago bands Detholz!, Baby Teeth & Bobby Conn and the Glass Gypsies started a site Save the Awesome Cool Dudes - where you can donate to their cause. So, what're ya waitin' for? The show, however, will go on with the folk of Austin-to-Brooklyn expat Diamond Caverns,Mouth of Leaves, Nymph, and Meadows...
