Wolf
Eyes, John Weise - Knitting FactoryMain Space $12
Wolf
Eyes are the band that opened the younger generation’s
minds to noise. Their bloodcurdling earbleed sessions are intricately
composed, primally rhythmic, and heavier than Paul Prudhome. Definitely
either the rock stars or weirdos of their genre depending on which
one you believe they fit into and a very soulful live band. John
Weise, a veteran who's been recording noise experiments since his
teens, under his own name as well as Sissy Spacek and Bastard Noise,
has collaborated with everyone from Thurston Moore to Sun O))).
His solo material tends to consist of tightly textured juxtapositions
of a rich vocabulary of drones and electronics.
