Issue
I: October 31, 2005: Kid Congo Powers, Pt.1
The
first half of our feature devoted to the life, career, and
music of guitar legend Kid Congo Powers. Covering the period
from 1960 to 1986, Issue One includes Kids discussions of
growing up along with the early LA punk scene and later playing
with The Cramps, The Gun Club,
Tex Perkins, The Legendary Stardust Cowboy,
and The Fur Bible. Also inside are scans
of pages from the scrapbook Kid kept during his first year
in The Cramps (1980 - 1981), a 1984 Creem magazine
article, photos, and a look at Kid's recorded body of work
from this period.

II: January 15, 2006: Kid Congo Powers 2
T he
second half of our feature devoted to the life, career, and
music of guitar legend Kid Congo Powers. Covering1986 to the
present, Issue One includes Kids discussions of his years
with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The
Gun Club, Congo Norvell, Knoxville
Girls, Kid and Khan, and Kid Congo and the
Pink Monkey Birds. He also discusses his collaborations
with Die Haut, Barry Adamson, Make-Up, Mark Eitzel,
Julee Cruise, and many more. You can listen to the
Kid's story on MP3s or read their text transcriptions. You
will also find MP3s of Kid's music, lyrics, a tour of his
equipment, a profile of his right-hand man Jack Martin,
and even his famous enchilada recipe.
