CHARITIES
TO BENEFIT NINTH WARD MUSICIANS
Here are
a few of charities recommended by Ninth Ward musicians. If you got
the cash, give it. If not, throw a benefit or something and send
it to these locations.
The
Rock and Roll Community Fund
Memphis' Goner
Records has been doing lots of work over the months
to get equipment, housing, and other needs to New Orleans musicians
from the garage, punk, and general underground scenes. Goner did
a great job of finding housing for all of the exiles in Memphis
during the evacuation. This may be the best way to do it because
Goner is in charge of dispersing the funds and knows all of the
bands and who needs it the most.
